This 5-day training takes you from zero to a production-ready Proxmox cluster. Day one covers bare-metal installation and web interface familiarization. From day two, you create your first KVM VMs and LXC containers, learning to choose the right virtualization type for each workload. Storage is covered in depth: ZFS for data integrity and deduplication, Ceph for distributed storage, NFS/iSCSI for external storage.
The core of the training (days 3-4) focuses on clustering: Corosync setup for inter-node communication, high-availability configuration with watchdog fencing, HA group creation with affinity constraints. You simulate a hardware failure and observe automatic VM failover in real time. The final day covers Proxmox Backup Server: 3-2-1 backup strategy, incremental deduplication, backup encryption, and a documented disaster recovery plan.
