How much does a website cost in Cameroon in 2026?

The honest 2026 price list: real costs of a showcase site, web app or SaaS in Cameroon, item by item, in FCFA and euros.

Article by Landry BELLA, founder of Wiidev Studio, based on dozens of quotations prepared for Cameroonian and European SMEs. Last updated: October 2026.

Direct answer: in Cameroon in 2026, a professional showcase website costs between FCFA 525,000 and 2,000,000 (€800 to €3,000), a custom web application between FCFA 1,600,000 and 8,000,000 (€2,500 to €12,000), and a SaaS platform starts around FCFA 3,300,000 (€5,000) and can exceed FCFA 25,000,000 for a complete product. Between these extremes, everything depends on scope, the team's level of expertise, and the targeted technical quality.

In this guide, we go through it cost by cost, no fluff, so you can compare three quotations on the same basis, and spot offers that are too good to be true.

The 2026 price list, project type by project type

Reference rate: €1 ≈ FCFA 656.

Project typeRealistic budget (FCFA)Realistic budget (€)Timeline
Premium landing page / one-pager400,000 to 800,000600 to 1,2001-2 weeks
Professional showcase website525,000 to 2,000,000800 to 3,0002-5 weeks
E-commerce site (mid-size catalog)1,600,000 to 6,500,0002,500 to 10,0004-10 weeks
Custom web application (internal tool, dashboard)1,600,000 to 8,000,0002,500 to 12,0004-12 weeks
SaaS platform (multi-user)3,300,000 to 25,000,0005,000 to 38,0002-6 months
Odoo ERP integration (SME)2,000,000 to 10,000,0003,000 to 15,0001-4 months

⚠️ These ranges apply to professional work: original design, clean and documented code, technical SEO included, source code delivered to the client. A quotation well below the low end almost always hides: a resold off-the-shelf theme labeled "custom-made", no SEO, no source code, and support that vanishes after delivery.

Why an offer "from FCFA 150,000" exists (and why it will cost you more)

Offers at 50,000-150,000 FCFA are everywhere on Facebook, WhatsApp and entrepreneur groups. They are not always scams, but here is what is really behind them:

  1. A theme bought for €30-80, resold 10 times over. Your "unique site" already exists online hundreds of times, with the same layout and the same limitations.
  2. No technical SEO. Google indexes the pages poorly, and 6 months later a client typing your company's name cannot find you: your competitor gets the traffic.
  3. Zero ownership. The site often sits on the provider's hosting with a monthly "rent". You don't own the code, and the day you leave, the site goes down.
  4. Poor mobile quality. On mobile (the main device of your clients) it breaks.
  5. Near-zero maintenance. No security updates: the site becomes exploitable through outdated plugin versions.

The honest math: a well-built showcase site at FCFA 525,000 costs less over 3 years than a FCFA 150,000 site that has to be entirely redone within 12 months, not counting the sales lost in between.

The 6 factors that move the price of a web project

1. Functional scope

The #1 factor. A contact form is not the same effort as a client area with Stripe subscriptions or a WhatsApp Business API integration. Before any quotation, ask for a written feature list: the only serious basis for comparison.

2. Design

An original design, adapted to your brand and tested on mobile, takes hours of design work. A generic theme costs almost nothing. That's where most of the gap between "€1,200" and "€3,000" lives.

3. The team's level

A junior developer bills less, that's a fact. But for a management tool your business depends on, it's past experience on comparable projects that determines the result. A senior partner takes positions on architecture, anticipates risks and delivers documented code, not just "a developer who codes fast".

4. Technical quality and security

HTTPS, automatic backups, SQL injection protection, roles and permissions: invisible at launch, essential as soon as you grow. It's what separates a secured database from an Excel file exposed in the cloud.

5. Your availability during the project

A successful project involves your team at key moments: requirements gathering, design validation, training. Plan for 2 to 4 hours per week of your time (or a dedicated team member), it avoids needless rounds of billed rework.

6. Deployment and hosting

Everything recurring (domain, professional hosting, SSL, emails, external services like Stripe) adds up annually: between FCFA 100,000 and 500,000/year (€150-750) for a standard site. These costs must appear in the quotation, not surprise you afterwards.

Europe vs Cameroon: the same work at a different price

This is THE question international decision-makers ask: why does something that costs €8,000 at a Paris agency cost €2,500 with us in Cameroon, at identical quality?

  • The cost of living differs far more than technical skill does
  • Our time zone is the same as Paris: meetings, feedback and urgencies are handled the same day, not "tomorrow"
  • Native French (and fluent English): no language barrier with the team
  • The tools are the same: Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Docker (the code is written at the same quality level)

With three integrity conditions, verifiable and to be required in any quotation:

  1. The source code is yours and is delivered at the end of the project (then hosted by you: Vercel, OVH...)
  2. A written milestone plan, kept
  3. A post-delivery warranty (at Wiidev: 30 days included) to fix any production bug

And what about Odoo?

If your problem isn't a website but management (sales, inventory, invoicing, accounting), the budget is of a different nature: you're investing in a system, not a site. From FCFA 2,000,000 (€3,000) for a simple CRM/Sales/Invoicing scope up to FCFA 10,000,000 (€15,000) for a multi-module ERP with data migration and team training.

The 5 mistakes that sink a web budget in Cameroon

  1. Signing a quotation without a written scope. "Additional features" are the #1 source of disputes.
  2. Paying 100% up front. Never pay more than 40% as a deposit; the rest against delivered milestones.
  3. Ignoring mobile. More than 85% of your visitors are on phones in Cameroon: test every mockup on mobile before approving it.
  4. Neglecting SEO. "We want to be first on Google" without an SEO plan = a lost race. Require the technical package (sitemap, markup, speed) in the specifications.
  5. Forgetting recurring costs. Domain, hosting, professional email: budget them annually from the first quotation.

Checklist: how to compare two quotations in Cameroon

Before signing anything, ask these 8 questions:

  • Is the functional scope written, page by page?
  • Is the design original (mockup to validate) or an off-the-shelf theme?
  • Can I see 3 real references online, with URLs?
  • Will the source code be fully delivered to me?
  • What are the delivery deadlines per milestone?
  • What are the recurring costs (hosting, domain, maintenance)?
  • Is there a post-launch warranty (30 days, 60 days)?
  • Is payment structured by milestones (30-40% up front maximum)?

A serious provider answers "yes" to all 8 without hesitation. If he dodges one, it's not a saving: it's a risk.

FAQ: Your questions about the cost of a website in Cameroon

1. What is the minimum budget for a serious website in Cameroon? For a professional showcase site that actually brings you clients (not just "being online"), plan from FCFA 525,000 (€800). Below that, you're buying a disguised off-the-shelf theme: no SEO, no delivered code.

2. How long does it take to build a website? 1 to 2 weeks for a landing page, 2 to 5 weeks for a complete showcase site, 4 to 10 weeks for e-commerce or a custom web application, provided you validate the mockups quickly.

3. Are annual costs included in these prices? No. Development is a one-off cost; hosting, domain, email and maintenance are annual. Plan FCFA 100,000 to 500,000/year (€150-750) depending on site type, and require their explicit mention in the quotation.

4. Why choose a Cameroonian agency over a European one? For the same technical quality: 50 to 70% less budget, the same time zone as Paris, native French in meetings, and the same tooling (Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL). What changes between the two agencies is only the cost structure, not the skill.

5. Can I pay in installments? Yes: 30 to 40% deposit at the start, then payment upon each delivered milestone. Be wary of a quotation demanding 100% up front, even an attractive one: that's a warning sign, not a good deal.

6. What do I receive at the end of the project? At Wiidev Studio: the complete source code, hosting accounts in your name, documentation, and a 30-day post-launch warranty. You own 100% as soon as the last invoice is settled.
